London is changing, and things are awakening. Magic is real once again and karma flows through the cities heart, bringing with it promises of great and wonderful things...but also hideous, twisted malice and evil. Taint, alongside Karma has returned..and with it the many dark things people would rather have preferred been long forgotten. In these times of great uncertainties, great beings of ancient power will stir...and their wills will once again shape the world... (intro)
The adventure will officially begin with the Scions each getting a personal invitation to a banquet at the Bank of London, Branch 221 B Baker street. The banks beneficiary, one Mr. Ershlock Holmstier, is holding the celebration in honor of the banks anniversary of its establishment. Black tie event of course, and if the PC's (I upped their wealth levels by 1 for this adventure) can't afford one, then a slip for a free rental is included. At the banquet, the gossip among the crowd is about the disappearance of an eccentric Bird watcher one George Townshed, another eccentric money maker. More whispers among the crowd blame it on the odd and strange, wonderful, and yet also terrifying things going on in London at this time (3 years since the return of Karma) Reports of mysterious figures passing with the mists of London and then disappearing into thin air punctuate many of these whispered rumors, and many people at the banquet have heard of this phenomena, which sets a seemingly grim and dark mood in many of the conversations. The mood is lightened when the host appears. He is a tall, somewhat thin man, with graying slicked back black hair that seems to punctuate his sharp features. His blue eyes however, are his most intriguing feature, as despite his apparent age they glitter with almost a childlike curiosity, yet sage-llike wisdom. His fingers are long and slender, yet show very little signs of age, like his features. Many in the crowd can be heard whispering about possible uses of magic, or that somehow he has cheated aging through some dark means, yet none know why this man looks so young for someone over 100, as is rumored to be his age. He is known to be a recluse and so the rumors are all that people have heard, and no one can find truths in the matter.
He introduces himself to the crowd, and then tells everyone that dinner will begin shortly, as the man-servants are busy setting up the table for dinner. He then nods slightly and then returns upstairs, but briefly seems to glance at the PCs among the crowd. A manservant soon enters and then announces dinner. At dinner, which is attended by Ershlock, each PC (who most likely have established when they were together in the hall they are broodmates) receive a message on a slip of paper within the folds of the napkin that says
"After dinner, presidents office, the truth is the Eagles sight"
After dinner, and the PCs have made their way up the stairs in the hall that Ershlock appeared from, they come across the presidents office. It appears normal, with bookshelves across the back walls, a big desk in the center of the room, and a painting on the wall across from the desk. The desk has a ink blotter and ink well sitting on it but is bare except for an Eagles bust. Upon discovering the clues within the card and uncovering the secret lever hidden underneath the painting. Upon switching it a book case swings open revealing a small passage. Down the passage the PCs comes across a antique wooden door, with Victorian stain glass upon its face. Standing infront of the door, it is quickly opened and Ershlock is behind it. he greets the PC's then leads them into a small, but spacey apartment. On one wall, is a series of books and files, which look antique. On the fireplaces mantle sits a old violin case. Near the windows, a antique couch, again Victorian, sits, and across it two old chairs. which face the windows which look out onto the street. Surrounding them on all sides, seem to be many relics of old times that the PCs can notice radiate with Karma, and on a table across from the couch sits a pipe and hat. Next to it on a coat rack sits an old weather coat. As the scions look over the place, Mr. Ershlock will ask them to have a seat then proceed to tell them who he really is....
(spoiler) He is in fact Sherlock Holmes, of the novels by Sir arthur Conan Doyle, but he was never a myth, instead he is very real, and very much alive. It will turn out that the family of Holmes has long since held ties to the ancient city of Atlantis, and its blood runs strong in their veins. he has been watching the world closely since the return of Karma and has noticed the return of Scions and other strange and mysterious creatures from a time long ago can mean only one thing: Dragons are again reincarnating and returning to the world. (he is not a member of the Masons, Knights templar, or Guardians, but does have some records that he accrued in his lifetime that do details smidgens of info about the mythic age, but nothing the PC's can use, they mainly are family records and stories)
He will then tell the PC's why he asked to meet them. He has heard the rumors of the disappearance of George Townshed and has investigated (discreetly of course) using his contacts within the Police to get details on the case. He then tells them that the report mentioned that, according to Mr Townsheds butler, he was researching information on Ravens before he disappeared. Supposedly he had made a breakthrough on the study regarding information that pertained to them. Holmes tells them that his research notes also disappeared soon after he supposedly made the breakthrough, and that a strange man was seen on the grounds a few hours before the disappearance. Unfortunately (and strangely) despite being seen on grounds, no one was abe to describe the individual. Strangely enough, the only other thing that was around at his time of disappearance was a Raven who flew in one day, and took up residence in the trees on his estate. It was this Raven that Townshed was studying due to his fascination with Ravens, crows and others of their kin. He believes this case is more than it seems and would like the scions to look in on it for him, as he himself prefers anonymity, as those who can see who he really is might cause his disguise and well hidden visage after these years to be broken. He offers the PC's something from his collection of items for their help, and tells them, rather diplomatically that it will be well worth their time. (appealing to their Dragon sides Wink nobody ever said he was a dummy Wink ) he then hands the PC's the file on the case, and offers them tea....
