Greatsword of Sealing

Hoard Rating: 4 (for ref only, cannot be purchased)
Taint Rating: 3
Magical Qualities: Can seal souls, as well as Karma

Item Information
The Greatswords were originally created during the Mythic Age by the Sayers of the Order of Saint Georgio.  These swords were forged and Enchanted to fight the Immortal Dragons, and seal their very souls and Karmic essence away, unable to reincarnate, thus making them suffer a "true" death.  The Greatswords were eventually lost when Karma left the world and the dark times of the Sayers and Dragon wars were forgotten.  Many years later, now in the Modern Age, a few of these swords remain, the exact amount unknown, however, the Order has managed to reclaim a few, and has given the swords to some of their top Agents.  If a Agent is ever felled while using the sword, it is quickly reclaimed, and any one who might have discovered the swords Powers are exterminated.  The Swords look like ordinary Greatswords except for the fact that they bear one distinguishing feature- a blood red cross made of ruby inlaid into the swords hilt.

Powers

Karmic Bind
Upon the sword landing a blow in combat, the user can initiate a Karma versus Taint bid (in addition to any bidding that might have taken place during the sequence resolution)  If the victim wins the Bid, this power cannot be used again for the rest of the combat scene, however if the swords user wins, the victims Karma pool is immediately considred "sealed" and they are unable to use it.  The sealer may still Bid as normal to influence sequence results and gain successes.  This effect lasts until the end of Combat when the Seal is destroyed by the power of the Karma returning more quickly than in combat.  This effect can also be countered by using a Karmic Item for "healing" purposes during combat.  doing this drains 1 extra Karma from the item then normal.

Seal the Immortal Soul
If the Greatsword slays a Dragon (or Scion) the Soul does not reincarnate, rather it ends up being overwhelmed by Taint and slowly over time becomes Taint, tainting the immediate area where the Scion/Dragon fell.  Thus is the Dragons immortal Soul destroyed in a most horrific and painful manner, the Soul seperated from the power of Karma, and turned into perversion of itself.  However, a Dragon influenced by the Reincarnate spell, or one who makes a Will (Earth) TH 6 test, can avoid this terrible fate.

Tainted
The Greatswords of Sealing were created with taint and thus are Tainted themselves.  Only a person who is Tainted can use the swords abilities.  Any person who is not Tainted and uses the sword will find that they cannot use its powers.  Scions however can feel the taint oozing off the weapon and their Dragon selves can use the feeling of dread they get from it to forcefully trigger a Flashback.  The downside of this is the flashbacks will usually be extremely violent and traumatic and cause the Scion mental trauma.  If this is attempted, the Scion must make a Will (Earth) TH 3 or suffer a -3 permanent drain to their max Karma pool.  This test must be made every time the Scion uses the sword to trigger flashbacks.

The sword is entrusted to only the most powerful of the Order because of there being so few of them, and thus is usually only used by Team leaders with APL's of 4 or 5.
